POETRY BY YUU IKEDA

7/30/2021

“The Mirror That I Broke”

In the mirror
that I broke,
a cup of coffee
was reflected

The scent of happiness
The symbol of hope
The sign of new morning

In the mirror
that I stamped,
a cup of coffee
was reflected

The siren of loneliness
The song of emptiness
The yawn of new night

I lost everything,
when I broke the mirror

I parted with everything,
when I stamped the mirror
